Gameweek 38 Fixtures
Top Player Tips
1) Dusan Tadic £6.7m (Southampton)
Southampton enter the final round of the EPL season in 7th place and they will be looking to stay ahead of Liverpool and leapfrog West Ham United into 6th place this weekend. Southampton are red hot at the moment, undefeated in their last 5 matches, a run including wins against Manchester City and Spurs. Dusan Tadic, renown for his high chance creation rates, has been back to his best of late – collecting 6 assists and 2 goals in the last 4 gameweeks. Southampton will be at home on the south coast to Crystal Palace for gameweek 38. Last weekend Palace mathematically secured their place in the EPL next season, and with the FA Cup final against Manchester United on the horizon, you may see some squad rotation at play as they look to freshen up their star players. So a team in hot form, against a team with one eye on the FA Cup Final, we’re tipping Southampton to take this one by at least 2 goals.
2) Olivier Giroud £8.8m (Arsenal)
Our second player pick for gameweek 38 is Arsenal’s French striker Olivier Giroud. Giroud has once again has his critics this season, despite a healthy return of 13 goals and 6 assists in the league so far. But many gunners fans will feel the title would have been theirs with a 20+ goal haul from a world class striker leading the line for them. With a long term injury to Danny Welbeck, Giroud’s place in the starting 11 looks quite secure for this weekend. And Arsenal will finish the season at home to bottom of the table Aston Villa, in what could well be a goal fest. Villa have played some very poor football this season, managing only 3 wins all year. So Giroud looks like a safe pick for some points to hopefully earn you a win in your own Fantasy Football leagues.
3) Jermain Defoe £5.4m (Sunderland)
Our third and final player pick for gameweek 38 is Sunderland’s relegation hero Jermain Defoe. All looked lost for Sunderland just a few month ago, but Sam Allardyce just doesn’t to Premier League relegations. Mainly thanks to the sheer class of Jermain Defoe, Sunderland manage another great escape and earn a place in the Premier League for next season. Regular football has been agreeing with the veteran Defoe, bagging 15 league goals this to date this season. That great form has many calling for him to have a place in Roy Hodgson’s England squad for the Euro 2016 tournament this summer. With the squad announcement delayed due to a number of injuries, including Danny Welbeck, Defoe will be looking to sign off the season in style and add an exclamation point next to his name for Euro selection. Sunderland will head to 13th placed Watford for gameweek 38, with both teams safe. Watford are entering the managerial merry-go-round in the summer, which could impact things on the field. Perhaps not a win, but a good chance for more goals for Defoe.
