EPL squad players got chance to impress mid-week in the Capital One Cup, but it’s business as usual this weekend as we look forward to Gameweek 7 of the Fantasy Premier League. In Gameweek 6 Manchester City finally let in their first goal of the season going down to West Ham, and Chelsea bounced back to pick up an important win in a highly controversial game against the gunners that left Diego Cost with a 3 match ban. All transfers and team selections need to be finalized by 11:45am (BST) on the 26th of September, 2015. Here are our top player tips for gameweek 7 of the Fantasy Premier League.
Top Player Tips
1) Anthony Martial £8.2m (Manchester United)
First up is one of the most obvious player picks for gameweek 7 in Manchester United’s transfer deadline day signing Anthony Martial. Martial has really hit the ground running for United, scoring on his debut against Liverpool and then backing it up with a brace against Southampton in gameweek 6. His speed and fleet of foot finally give united some pace up front, and he’s not overwhelmed by the pressure on him from the sizable transfer fee. With already over 500k transfers in between gameweek 6 & 7, Martial is the bandwagon player for this gameweek. One of the factors in that is Manchester United’s fixture this weekend, as they line up against bottom of the table Sunderland at Old Trafford. Sunderland haven’t been playing good football this season, so a Manchester United win & a goal or two from Martial look like the punters key pick.
2) Dimitri Payet £7.8m (West Ham)
Our second tip for Gameweek 7 is West Ham’s star summer signing Dimitri Payet. Much like Martial, Payet has been sensational for West Ham this season following his transfer from Marseille. Last season Payet scored 7 goals and chipped in with a massive 16 assists for Marseille in the French Ligue 1. According to goal.com, no player in Europe’s top five league created more chances than Payet’s 135. This season Payet already has 3 goals and 2 assists from their first 6 EPL matches, so he looks to have settled well and is up to the challenge of the Premier League. West Ham face newly promoted Norwich City at home in gameweek 7, then they face lowly Sunderland in gameweek 8. That’s a good looking run going into the next international break, so expect Dimitri Payet to also be in hot property this week and his price rise.
3) Jonny Evans £4.8m (West Bromwich Albion)
And lastly, our third and final player tip for gameweek 7 is West Bromwich Albion’s summer signing from Manchester United, Jonny Evans. West Brom are looking mighty solid at the back against this season (could we expect anything less from a Tony Pulis side?), picking up 4 clean sheets from their first 6 EPL matches. Jonny Evans’ arrival has added another quality player to their starting lineup, and he’s featured in the past two matches which have both resulted in clean sheets too. two matches, 14 points, any FPL manager would be happy with that return from a £4.8m defender. West Bromwich Albion avoid all the big clubs for the next 5 gameweeks, talking on; Everton (Home), Crystal Palace (Away), Sunderland (Home), Norwich City (Away), Leicester City (Home). It’s a nice looking run, I’d expect at least 3 clean sheets from those 5 fixtures, so West Brom defense is a safe bet for the immediate future.
