Top Picks for Gameweek 12

Following the international break it’s time to get back to the Premier League. Lets take a look ahead to Gameweek 12 with some tips. The deadline for finalizing your Fantasy Premier League teams for Gameweek 12 is 11:30am GMT on the 22nd of November, 2014.

Top Tips for Gameweek 12

1. Southampton Defense

(Clyne, Bertrand, Fonte, Alderweireld, Forster)

The Saints travel to Aston Villa for Gameweek 12 and will be expected to continue their good form. Awaiting the Saints are a toothless Aston Villa who have the worst attacking record in the league, having managed only 5 goals from their first 11 Premier League Matches. On the flip side, Southampton have been resilient and organized at the back – with the best defense in the league having conceded only 5 goals from their opening 11 premier league games. It’s the best defense in the league against the worst attack in the league, so our Clean Sheet alert is at a record high.

This looks like a wise investment for Gameweek 12, but keep in mind Southampton then have a must harder run of Manchester City (Home), Arsenal (Away) and Manchester United (H) for Gameweeks 13,14 and 15 . So be sure to play ahead at the back.

2. Charlie Austin QPR £5.8m

After 3 great performances in a ow, things are look up for Harry Redknapp’s Queens Park Rangers. Having taken a point off reigning champions Manchester City in Gameweek 11, their confidence is high and there teamwork and determination is much improved from the early rounds. It’s a shame the the international break came at such a time when they were just starting to find some form. That uplift in form has been in part thanks to the goals coming from Charlie Austin, who’s name has been thrown around by the English press this week for a potential call up the England national team. Austin has scored 4 goals in QPR’s last 3 matches, which includes goals against both Chelsea and Manchester City. If he can put in similar performances against other regulation contenders, then Austin could accumulate quite a tally be the end of the season. Gameweek 12 sees QPR on the road up north to Newcastle United, who themselves have had an upturn in results (if not a little fortunate). This will be team teams two struggled early in the season, looking to build on their current form. Newcastle’s Argentinian center back Fabricio Coloccini picked up a knock last round and is a doubt for Gameweek 12, so Austin looks a good chance of grabbing goal.

 3. Eden Hazard £10.0m

With Cesc Fabregas ruled out for two weeks with a hamstring injury, he is a risk of not being fit for Gameweek 12. Fabregas has been a sensation since his arrival as Chelsea from Barcelona in the summer. But with question marks over his fitness, Chelsea will be looking towards their other creative players to make the chances for their team. Fabregas is currently selected in more than half of Fantasy Premier League teams, yet attacking winger Eden Hazard is only selected in 16.2% of Fantasy Premier League teams. So this could be a strategic maneuver to swap out our Chelsea midfielders to capitalize on this injury. Chelsea have after all scored in all 11 of their Premier League matches so far this season, so the goals will come.  In Gameweek 12 Chelsea welcome Swansea  to Stamford Bridge and will be looking to continue to race away with the league. That matches is followed by away fixtures at Southampton and Sunderland in GW 13-14.
