We now look ahead to Gameweek 11 of the Fantasy Premier League and make our top picks for players to watch. Changes for Gameweek 11 need to be finalized by 11:30am on the 08th of November.
Sergio Aguero £12.6m (Manchester City)
This may well be an obvious one given the players price and the fact that he is now the top goal scorer in the Premier League this season, but things are lining up for a great end to 2014 for Sergio Aguero. Gameweek 11 sees Manchester City visit Queens Park Rangers, who have the worst defensive record in the Premier League having conceded 20 goals in the first 10 matches of the season. A team leaking on average 2 goals a game is the perfect invitation for the red hot Aguero to get his name on the score sheet once again. Looking further ahead, Manchester City don’t face any of their regular title contenders in the Premier League for the rest of the year. So if Aguero can stay fit, then he can inflict some real damage on the teams in the lower half of the table for the remainder of 2014. His price will surely rise, so get in early to beat the rush.
Nathaniel Clyne £5.6m (Southampton)
Having conceded only 5 goals in their first 10 games of the season, and with 3 consecutive clean sheets in a row, Southampton defense is a no brainer at the moment. Gameweek 11 seems them at home entertaining newly promoted Leicester City who currently sit in the relegation zone. If Southampton can continue their currently form, this looks like another win coming up and a high chance of another clean sheet. Any of the Southampton defenders look good value for money, but we’ve gone with Clyne as his attacking play at full-back means he’s also a good chance of a goal or assist and is slightly cheaper than Ryan Bertrand at left full-back. Looking ahead, in Gameweek 12 Southampton travel to Aston Villa who have the worst attack in the Premier League having scored just 5 goals from their first 10 games of the season. This also looks like a good bet for Southampton defenders to pick up another clean sheet. But that’s where things start to look a little risky for Southampton as the have a run of Manchester City, Arsenal and Manchester United in Gameweeks 13-15. So caution should be advised there.
Stewart Downing £5.8m
Having earned himself a recall to the England squad this week thanks to his wonderful for this season, Downing is our third tip for Gameweek 11. Playing in a more central role for West Ham this season has brought the best out of Downing, with 2 goals and 4 assists so far and a home match against struggling Aston Villa this weekend. West Ham have been in good form this season so far, Alex Songs arrival from Barcelona has brought some must needed stability and quality to West Hams midfield which Downing has clearly been the benefactor. Expect to see more good results from the Hammers until December time thanks to a friendly run of fixtures. Downing represents great value at only 5.8 compared to some of this fellow Englishmen.
