Top Player Tips

1) Yannick Bolasie £6.0 (Everton)

Yannick Bolasie £6.0 (Everton)

Everton are off to a flyer in the EPL this season, undefeated do far and coming off 3 wins on the trot. Last weekend saw their best team performance so far, thrashing Sunderland 3-0 thanks to a hat-trick from Romelu Lukaku. Summer signing from Crystal Palace Yannick Bolasie picked up his first assist of the season in that match, setting up Lukaku with a cross. Bolasie’s pace and trickery make him a handful for defenses, and with Ross Barkley currently under performing at Goodison Park, pace down the flanks and getting the ball into Lukaku seem like the best attacking option for Everton. At £6.0 Bolasie seems under-priced for his points potential, should he stay fit for the season. The Toffies have a favorable run of upcoming fixtures, talking on Middlesbrough (Home), AFC Bournemouth (Away) and then Crystal Palace (Home). I can see Everton keeping their undefeated run going into October, and points on the way for Bolasie.

2) Christian Benteke £7.5 (Crystal Palace)

Christian Benteke £7.5 (Crystal Palace)
Our second player pick for Gameweek 5 is another summer signing starting to find for, Crystal Palace’s Christian Benteke. Benteke returned to the score sheet last weekend in Crystal Palace’s 2-1 victory of Middlesbrough. That was Crystal Palace’s first win of the season, largely thanks to Wilfried Zaha’s goal and assist performance. But Benteke is just a scoring machine in the Premier League, regardless of who he plays with. Lets not forget he still managed an impressive 9 goals and 4 assists last season in the EPL fore Liverpool, despite limited playing time. With some quality around him and increased playing time, Benteke could quite easily crack 20 league goals this season. Palace are a bit of hot/cold team, looking unstoppable when on form, but then will lose 10 matches on the hop when things are not going their way. Last weekends win bodes well for the Selhurst faithful as Palace now the bottom two clubs on the table, entertaining Stoke City this weekend followed by Sunderland (Away). Benteke looks like a good option for the next two gameweeks as a goal thread against leaky defenses.

3) Ashley Williams £5.0 (Everton)

Ashley Williams £5.0 (Everton)
Our third and final pick for gameweek 5 is Everton’s new central defender Ashley Williams. With two clean sheets from two starts, Ashley Williams’s quality and pairing with Phil Jagielka looks to be firming up into a formidable backline. First choice right back Seamus Coleman also returned for their 3-0 win over Sunderland on Monday, giving Everton their first choice defensive line for the first time this season. At Southampton Ronald Koeman kept things very tight and organised at the back, resulting in a high rate of clean sheets. That is in contrast to former Everton manager Roberto Martinez who played a very open brand of football, which led to Everton conceding far more goals that usual. Gameweek 5 sees Everton entertaining Middlesbrough at home. Everton have a really good run of fixtures as mentioned above, so they are not only a goal threat but with 2 on the bounce, a nice tip for clean sheets too. At £5.0 Williams comes in cheaper than fullbacks Leighton Baines & Seamus Coleman and is our preferred option for Everton reinforcements at the back.
