Gameweek 3 tips Fantasy EPL Football

Gameweek 3 Top Tips

After two rounds of the Premier League season it is shaping up to be all about Jose Mourinho’s Manchester United and Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City. Both teams chief striker sit at the top of the Fantasy Premier League points table for season 2016/17 so far. So will we see more of the same in Gameweek 3? Let’s have a look ahead with 3 player tips for this round. The deadline for all your transfers, wildcards and captain nominations for Gameweek 3 is 11:30am (BST) on the 27th of August.

Top Player Tips

1) Zlatan Ibrahimovic £11.7 (Man Utd)

Zlatan Ibrahimovic £11.7 (Man Utd)
First up it’s Manchester United’s new goal machine Zlatan Ibrahimovic. Ibrahimovic has started the season with 2 games and 3 goals, as well as 6 bonus points taking him to 22 points. We knew to expect goal from him, as that’s what he does, but he has really hit the ground running. United in general look a rejuvenated team under Mourinho, and look like real title contenders out of the blocks. At £11.7 he’s a premium priced forward, but at £1.3 cheaper than Sergio Agüero, he actually looks good value. How his body holds up with Europa League demands may well decide Manchester United’s final league standing come the end of the season. More immediately, United travel to Premier League new boys Hell City for gameweek 3. Hull sit in third place on the table, with wins against Leicester City and Swansea from the first too rounds. United look like a whole other challenge for them, and I expect United to win this one – and that most likely means more goals for Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

2) Nathan Redmond £6.1 (Southampton)

Nathan Redmond £6.1 (Southampton)
Next up it’s Southampton’s young English attacker Nathan Redmond. Nathan Redmond is a nice attacking options to have in your fantasy EPL team’s midfield. While he is listed as a midfielder, he has been playing out of position up front along side Shane Long. Last season Redmond showed glimpses of magic on the wing for Norwich City, but his new more central role makes him a bigger attacking threat for opponents. Redmond picked up a goal in Gameweek 1, which will have settled the nerves a little. Southampton will be at home to winless Sunderland for their Gameweek 3 match. Sunderland just scraped their way to Premier League safety last season, and having conceded 4 goals in their opening two matches, it looks like it’s going to be another season of struggles for them. There are goals in this one for Southampton, and Redmond’s advanced position means he’ll be in the mix.

3) Eden Hazard £10.1 (Chelsea)

Eden Hazard £10.1 (Chelsea)
Our third and final pick for gameweek 3 is Chelsea’s Belgian winger Eden Hazard. Hazard really struggled to play to the high standard’s that we have come to expect of him. From 2 season’s in a row delivering 14 goals and 10 assists, a return of 5 goals & 4 assists was underwhelming to say the least. Injury did play a part in that, and his playing time was much reduced last season. Under new Chelsea manager Antonio Conte, Hazard looks like he’s recapturing that prolific attacking form that know he can deliver. With a goal & assists from the first two gameweeks, as well as 3 bonus points, Hazard looks on track for a high points return this season. Chelsea’s lack of European football this season will also play a factor in keeping Hazard fit & fresh throughout the season. For gameweek 3 Chelsea entertain newly promoted Burnley. Burnley picked up a good win against Liverpool last weekend, so they won’t be push overs.
