We are off and running in the Fantasy Premier League for season 2016/17. Already some big new names are making their mark on the Premier League, such as Zlatan Ibrahimovic who scored his first premier league goal in gameweek 1. The deadline for all your transfers, wildcards and captain nominations for Gameweek 2 is 19:00am (BST) on the 19th of August. Lets have a look at the top player tips for gameweek 2:
Top Player Tips
1) Ross Barkley £7.6 (Everton)
Everton & England attacking midfielder Ross Barkley is our first player tip for gameweek 2. Barkley got his season off to a nice start will a floated free-kick finding it’s way into the back of the net against Tottenham. That match ended 1-1, which was an encouraging start to the season first for Ronald Koeman’s men. Everton now have a fantastic run a fixtures in the league, facing West Brom (Away), Stoke (Home), Sunderland (Away), Middlesbrough (Home), Bournemouth (Away), Crystal Palace (Home). They don’t face any clubs that finished in the tip 8 last season until gameweek 8.
As a flair attacking player, Barkley will also get his fair share of bonus points through the season too. With Yannick Bolasie arriving at Everton this week, he should provide some extra firepower and wide runs for Barkley to pick out.
2) Álvaro Negredo £6.6 (Middlesbrough)
Our second tip for Gameweek 2 is Middlesbrough’s Spanish forward Álvaro Negredo. Negredo celebrated a scoring return to the Premier League in gameweek 1, having previously played for Manchester City before moving to La Liga. His goal helped Middlesbrough to a 1-1 draw against, and get their first point of the season. Like Everton, the Premier League new comers have a very favorable fixture list coming up. They face Sunderland (Away), West Brom (Away), Crystal Palace (Home) and Everton (Away). Negredo will be the first forward on the team-sheet for ‘brough this season, and at £6.6 offers some great value up front. Negredo will be hoping he can better his 9 league goals in season 2013/14.
3) Michel Vorm £5.0 (Spurs)
With first choice keeper Hugo Lloris suffering a hamstring injury and not expected back until the 17th of September, backup keeper Michel Vorm is set to fill the void between the sticks. Spurs had the equal best defense in the league last season, so should be solid at the back and a good chance for a clean sheet. with Vorm costing just £5.0, he’s also free up some funds when compared to other top four keepers. Gameweek 2 sees Spurs at home to Crystal Palace.
